When your body changes permanently, you lose things that don't get acknowledged — the ability to do simple tasks, the life you planned, the person you used to be. Scripture gives you full permission to name that loss and grieve it.

When your body won't cooperate, people start measuring you by what you can still produce. But the Bible says your worth was never located in your function — it's in the treasure God placed inside you.

Peter looked at John and asked, 'What about him?' Jesus' response was blunt: 'What is that to you? You follow Me.' When your body keeps you from what everyone else can do, Jesus calls you out of comparison and back to your own path.

He Walked Away Blessed and Limping

Jacob wrestled with God all night and refused to let go until he was blessed. He got the blessing — and a limp that never went away. And both were mercy. Your limp and your blessing may come from the same encounter.

Chronic illness means facing the same battle every single morning. Jeremiah wrote that God's mercies are new every morning — not because yesterday's mercy ran out, but because tomorrow's mercy is stored up and waiting for you when you get there.
