When You're in a Career Transition

The in-between is holy ground. Jesus purchased clarity, courage, and the right next step.

Proverbs 3:5-6·About 10 minutes
Welcome

Welcome, friend.

You're in the in-between. You've left one thing, and the next hasn't fully arrived yet. Maybe you chose this transition. Maybe it was forced on you. Either way, you're navigating uncharted territory. You're asking questions like "What am I supposed to do?" and "Am I making the right move?"

I want you to know today: The in-between is not wasted time. God does some of His deepest work in transitions. The Israelites learned to follow the cloud in the wilderness before they entered the Promised Land. The transition is where you learn to trust His leading — not just His destination.

Opening Prayer

Father, come near. We bring before You the one in transition. Give clarity where there's confusion. Give courage where there's fear. Give patience where there's pressure to rush. Order their steps and let the next door be unmistakable. In Jesus' name, Amen.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." — Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)

And also: "By his stripes we are healed." — Isaiah 53:5 (NLT)

Teaching

Listen to me: God orders the steps of His children — even the ones that feel uncertain.

A career transition can feel like walking in the dark. You can't see far ahead. Every step feels risky. But God doesn't ask you to see the whole path — just the next step. He is a lamp to your feet, not a floodlight to your future.

When you take Communion, you're saying: "I trust God to direct my path. I claim clarity for decisions. I release the anxiety of the unknown. And I receive confidence that this transition has purpose — even when I can't see it yet."

The Bread

Reflection

This bread represents the body of Christ — broken so that every step of your journey would be ordered by heaven. When you receive this bread, you receive the confidence that God is directing your path.

Prayer Over the Bread

Jesus, I thank You for Your broken body. I claim clarity for my next step. I release the fear of making the wrong decision. I trust You to lead me. By Your stripes, I am guided. Thank You. Amen.

The Cup

Invitation

Please take the cup.

[Allow a pause]

Reflection

When Jesus shed His blood, He purchased peace for the in-between. You don't have to have it all figured out. You don't have to see the whole path. When you receive this cup, you receive peace that surpasses the need to know everything.

Prayer Over the Cup

Jesus, I thank You for Your blood. I claim peace in the uncertainty. I claim patience in the waiting. By Your blood, my path is ordered. Amen.

Drink the Cup

Together, let us receive the cup.

[Allow a quiet moment]

Closing Prayer

Father, I stand before You on behalf of everyone in career transition. Give clarity to the confused. Give courage to the fearful. Give peace to the anxious. Let them hear Your voice saying "this is the way — walk in it." In Jesus' name, Amen.

Declarations

Speak these truths over yourself

"God orders my steps."

"By the stripes of Jesus, I have clarity."

"The in-between is not wasted — it's holy ground."

"I don't need to see the whole path — just the next step."

"This transition has purpose."

You are beloved. Your steps are ordered. The next door will open.

There is no limit on claiming what belongs to you.

Go in peace.
