When You're Struggling to Believe
Doubt doesn't disqualify you — it's an honest question looking for an honest answer. Jesus is big enough to handle your doubt.
Welcome, friend.
You're struggling to believe. Maybe it's intellectual — questions that don't have easy answers. Maybe it's circumstantial — you prayed and things got worse. Maybe it's relational — Christians let you down. Whatever brought you here, doubt isn't the absence of faith — it's faith asking questions.
I want you to know today: "I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!" was a prayer Jesus answered. He didn't rebuke the father for his doubt — He healed his son. Jesus is not offended by your honest questions. He meets you in the middle of them.
Opening Prayer
Father, come near. We bring before You the one struggling with doubt. Meet them in their questions. Don't let their doubt push them away — let it draw them closer to the One who is the Truth. In Jesus' name, Amen.
"Immediately the boy's father exclaimed, 'I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!'" — Mark 9:24 (NIV)
And also: "By his stripes we are healed." — Isaiah 53:5 (NLT)
Listen to me: Faith isn't the absence of doubt — it's trust in the presence of doubt. Even the disciples who walked with Jesus asked Him to increase their faith. Faith as small as a mustard seed can move mountains — you don't need certainty, you just need a seed.
When you take Communion, you're saying: "I bring my doubt to the Cross. I receive the faith that Jesus purchased — even if it's just a mustard seed's worth. I trust that He is faithful even when my faith wavers. And I declare that my salvation rests on His faithfulness, not my feelings."

Reflection
This bread represents the body of Christ — broken to give you a faith that doesn't depend on your ability to believe perfectly. When you receive this bread, you receive the faith of Christ Himself — faith that is a gift, not an achievement.
Prayer Over the Bread
Jesus, I thank You for Your broken body. I receive the gift of faith. I believe — help my unbelief. By Your stripes, my mustard seed is enough. Thank You. Amen.

Reflection
When Jesus shed His blood, He secured your salvation — not dependent on the strength of your faith but on the object of your faith. When you receive this cup, you receive the assurance that it's not the size of your faith that saves — it's the size of your Savior.
Prayer Over the Cup
Jesus, I thank You for Your blood. I rest in Your faithfulness — not mine. By Your blood, my salvation is secure. Amen.
