When You're Battling Fear and Anxiety
Fear screams — peace whispers. Jesus purchased a peace that surpasses understanding and a love that casts out fear.
Welcome, friend.
Fear is gripping you. Anxiety is running loops in your mind. The "what ifs" are endless and the worst-case scenarios play on repeat. Your body feels it — the tight chest, the racing heart, the sleepless nights. You're not weak for feeling this. Fear is ancient — it's the enemy's oldest weapon.
I want you to know today: God has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. The peace Jesus purchased at the Cross is not the absence of trouble — it's the presence of God in the middle of it. That peace surpasses understanding because it doesn't make sense that you could be calm in this storm.
Opening Prayer
Father, come near. We bring before You the one gripped by fear and anxiety. Quiet the storm inside them. Replace fear with faith. Let the peace that Jesus purchased guard their heart and mind. In Jesus' name, Amen.
"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." — 2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV)

Listen to me: Fear is a liar and anxiety is a thief. Fear lies about what's going to happen. Anxiety steals the peace of right now because you're too busy living in a future that may never come. But perfect love casts out fear — and you are perfectly loved.
When you take Communion, you're saying: "I receive the peace Jesus purchased. I reject the spirit of fear. I claim power, love, and a sound mind. And I declare that the God who holds the universe holds my situation too."
