When You're Grieving After a Miscarriage

Welcome, friend.

You lost a child before you ever got to hold them. The hopes and dreams you carried for that little life are now mixed with grief. This loss is often invisible to others — people don't know what to say, so they say nothing at all. But you know. You carry that child in your heart.

I want you to know today: Your child's life mattered. It was real. It was sacred. The psalmist says that God knit us together in our mother's womb. Before your child took a breath on earth, they were known by God. They are safe. They are loved. They are with Him.

Listen to me: Your child's life — however brief — was meaningful. And Jesus has purchased healing for this unique grief.

Miscarriage is a loss that often goes unmourned. People don't bring casseroles. They don't send flowers. They don't know what to say. But a life was conceived. A soul was created. A future was imagined. And that loss is real.

When you take Communion, you're saying: "I release my child into the arms of Jesus. I claim healing for the grief that others don't see. I trust that my child is safe — safer than they ever could be in my arms. And I receive the promise that I will meet them one day."
