When You've Received a Terminal Diagnosis
Your life is in God's hands — and always has been. Jesus purchased peace for every day, however many remain.
Welcome, friend.
You've received news that changes everything. The doctors have given you a timeline. The diagnosis is terminal. You are facing your own mortality in a way that is no longer abstract. Everything looks different now — every sunrise, every conversation, every moment.
I want you to know today: Your life is in God's hands, and it always has been. The number of your days was written in His book before one of them came to be. A terminal diagnosis doesn't change who holds your life — it just makes you more aware of what was always true.
Opening Prayer
Father, come near. We bring before You the one who has received hard news. Calm their heart. Take away the fear that rushes in. Help them to live each day fully present — not in fear of death but in the fullness of life. In Jesus' name, Amen.
"All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be." — Psalm 139:16 (NIV)

Listen to me: A terminal diagnosis is devastating, but it does not have the final word. Jesus does.
Doctors can give a prognosis, but they cannot number your days. Only God does that. And whether you have days or decades, what matters is not the quantity but the quality of the time you have. Every day is a gift. Every breath is grace.
When you take Communion, you're saying: "I release the fear of death. I claim peace for every remaining day. I trust that my life — every day of it — is held in the hands of the One who made me. And I receive the promise that death is not the end — it's a transition."

This bread represents the body of Christ — a body that was broken, that died, and that rose again. When you receive this bread, you receive the truth that your body is not your final home. Death is not the end. Resurrection is the promise.
Prayer Over the Bread
Jesus, I thank You for Your broken body. I release the fear of death. I claim peace for my mind and my body. I trust that my days are in Your hands. By Your stripes, I am healed. Thank You. Amen.

When Jesus shed His blood, He purchased your eternal life. Not just life after death — but abundant life now, however many days remain. When you receive this cup, you receive the promise that you are alive forever in Christ.

Jesus, I thank You for Your blood. I claim abundant life for every day I have. I receive peace that surpasses fear. By Your blood, I have eternal life — starting now. Amen.
