Rebuilding Your Identity in Christ
You've been defined by roles, failures, relationships, labels. It's time to rebuild your identity on the only foundation that lasts — who God says you are.
Welcome, friend.
Something knocked the foundation out from under you. A divorce. A job loss. A betrayal. A failure. And now you're asking the fundamental question: "Who am I?" When the roles you filled are gone and the labels you wore are stripped away, what's left?
I want you to know today: If anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! Your identity was never supposed to be built on what you do, who you're with, or what you've achieved. It's built on whose you are. You are a child of God. That can't be taken from you.
Opening Prayer
Father, come near. We bring before You the one rebuilding their identity. Tear down the false foundations. Let them see themselves through Your eyes. Build them up on the solid rock of who You say they are. In Jesus' name, Amen.
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" — 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV)
And also: "By his stripes we are healed." — Isaiah 53:5 (NLT)
Listen to me: You are not starting from scratch — you are starting from truth. Your identity is not a diy project you have to figure out. It's a revelation you receive. God has already spoken over who you are: loved, chosen, forgiven, righteous, more than a conqueror, the apple of His eye.
When you take Communion, you're saying: "I release the identities that were built on sand — my job, my relationships, my achievements, my failures. I receive the identity that stands on the rock — beloved child of God, new creation in Christ. And I declare that who God says I am is the only truth that matters."
The Bread
Invitation
Please take the bread.

Reflection
This bread represents the body of Christ — broken so that your old identity would be crucified with Him. When you receive this bread, you receive a new identity — not patched up, but made completely new in Christ.
Prayer Over the Bread
Jesus, I thank You for Your broken body. I release my old identity. I receive who You say I am. By Your stripes, I am a new creation. Thank You. Amen.
Eat the Bread

Please take the cup.

Reflection
When Jesus shed His blood, He sealed your new identity. You are not who your past says you are. When you receive this cup, you receive the permanent, unshakeable identity of a child of God — sealed by the blood of Christ.
Prayer Over the Cup
Jesus, I thank You for Your blood. I am a child of God — that is my identity, now and forever. By Your blood, the old is gone and the new has come. Amen.
Drink the Cup

Father, I stand before You on behalf of everyone rebuilding their identity. Let them know who they are in You. Tear down every false identity. Build them up as a new creation in Christ — beloved, chosen, righteous, and secure. In Jesus' name, Amen.
