When You've Lost Your Job
Your job does not define you. Jesus purchased your worth, your provision, and your next chapter.
Welcome, friend.
You lost your job. Maybe you were laid off. Maybe you were fired. Maybe the company closed. However it happened, the ground feels unsteady. Your identity, your income, your daily rhythm — all of it has been disrupted. You may be asking, "What now?"
I want you to know today: Your worth has never been in your job title. You were valuable before you ever had this position, and you are valuable now. Jesus said to look at the birds of the air — they don't sow or reap, and yet the Father feeds them. How much more valuable are you than they?
Opening Prayer
Father, come near. We bring before You the one who has lost their job. Calm their anxiety. Open doors no one can shut. Provide for their needs in the waiting. And help them know that their identity is secure in You — not in a paycheck. In Jesus' name, Amen.
"Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?" — Matthew 6:26 (NIV)
And also: "By his stripes we are healed." — Isaiah 53:5 (NLT)
Listen to me: This job loss does not define your future, and Jesus has provision for this season.
When you lose a job, it's easy to lose yourself. Your job told you who you were — what you were worth by society's measure. But your worth to God never showed up on a W-2. You are a child of the Most High God. That's your identity. That's your security.
When you take Communion, you're saying: "I release the shame of this job loss. I claim provision for every need. I trust that God is opening doors even as I speak. And I receive the identity that cannot be taken away."
The Bread

Please take the bread.

Reflection
This bread represents the body of Christ — broken so that you would always have access to the Provider, not just the provision. When you receive this bread, you receive the truth that God provides for His children.
Prayer Over the Bread
Jesus, I thank You for Your broken body. I release the shame of losing my job. I claim provision for every need. I trust You to open the right doors. By Your stripes, I am provided for. Thank You. Amen.

Reflection
When Jesus shed His blood, He purchased your future. Your next job doesn't determine your destiny — God does. Every closed door is making way for the one that's meant for you. When you receive this cup, you receive the promise that God is working all things for your good.
Prayer Over the Cup
Jesus, I thank You for Your blood. I claim my identity as a child of God. I claim direction for my next chapter. By Your blood, I have a future and a hope. Amen.

Father, I stand before You on behalf of everyone who has lost a job. Provide for them. Open doors. Restore their confidence. Help them to see that this is not the end — it's a transition. And let them know their worth has never been in their employment. In Jesus' name, Amen.
