When You're in a Major Life Transition

Everything is shifting — but Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Anchor in Him when the ground moves beneath your feet.

Hebrews 13:8·About 10 minutes
Welcome

Welcome, friend.

Everything is changing at once. A move, a new job, an empty nest, a relationship shift — life transitions that leave you unmoored. The old normal is gone and the new normal hasn't settled yet. You're in the "in between" and it's uncomfortable. Who are you in this new season? Where do you belong?

I want you to know today: Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. When everything around you changes, He does not. When the ground shifts, He is your solid ground. Communion is an anchor — it's the same bread, the same cup, the same Savior, no matter what season you're in.

Opening Prayer

Father, come near. We bring before You the one in transition. Be their anchor when everything is shifting. Give them wisdom for the new season. Let them find stability in You when nothing else feels stable. In Jesus' name, Amen.

"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever." — Hebrews 13:8 (NIV)

And also: "By his stripes we are healed." — Isaiah 53:5 (NLT)

Teaching

Listen to me: Transitions are not punishments — they're passages. God led Israel through the wilderness to get them to the Promised Land. The wilderness was not the destination — it was the transition. And God was in the cloud by day and the fire by night the entire time.

When you take Communion in a season of transition, you're saying: "I anchor myself in the unchanging Christ. I receive stability from Him when everything else is unstable. I claim that God goes before me into this new season. And I declare that the One who was faithful in the last season will be faithful in this one."

The Bread

Invitation

Please take the bread.

[Allow a brief pause]

Reflection

This bread represents the body of Christ — the same body that was broken two thousand years ago and still heals today. When you receive this bread, you receive the stability of the unchanging Christ — your anchor in every season.

Prayer Over the Bread

Jesus, I thank You for Your broken body. I anchor myself in You — the same yesterday, today, and forever. By Your stripes, I am steady even when everything shifts. Thank You. Amen.

Eat the Bread

Together, let us receive the bread.

[Allow a quiet moment]

The Cup

Invitation

Please take the cup.

[Allow a pause]

Reflection

When Jesus shed His blood, He established a covenant that doesn't expire with changing seasons. When you receive this cup, you receive the promise that God's faithfulness to you is not seasonal — it's eternal.

Prayer Over the Cup

Jesus, I thank You for Your blood. I receive God's eternal faithfulness. By Your blood, I am secure — no matter what changes around me. Amen.

Drink the Cup

Together, let us receive the cup.

[Allow a quiet moment]

Closing Prayer

Father, I stand before You on behalf of everyone in transition. Go before them into the new season. Be their stability. Let them find their identity in the unchanging Christ — not in changing circumstances. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Declarations

Speak these truths over yourself

"Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever — He is my anchor."

"By the stripes of Jesus, I am steady in every transition."

"God goes before me into this new season."

"Transitions are passages — not punishments."

"The God of the last season is the God of this season."

You are beloved. You are anchored. Christ is your constant — He never changes.

There is no limit on claiming what belongs to you.

Go in peace.
