When You're Dealing with Rejection
Rejected by others — accepted by God. Jesus was rejected so you would be eternally welcomed.
Welcome, friend.
Someone rejected you. Maybe a romantic partner. Maybe a friend. Maybe a job you were perfect for. Maybe a group you wanted to belong to. Rejection stings in a particular way — it tells you that you're not wanted, not chosen, not enough. The wound of rejection goes deeper than the surface.
I want you to know today: Jesus was rejected too — and He knows exactly how you feel. He was despised and rejected by men. He came to His own and His own did not receive Him. And He took that rejection all the way to the Cross so that you would never be rejected by God.
Opening Prayer
Father, come near. We bring before You the one who has been rejected. Heal the wound. Replace rejection with acceptance. Let them know that while the world may reject them, You never will. They are accepted in the Beloved. In Jesus' name, Amen.
"As you come to him, the living Stone — rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him." — 1 Peter 2:4 (NIV)
And also: "By his stripes we are healed." — Isaiah 53:5 (NLT)
Listen to me: Human rejection cannot override divine acceptance. What God says about you matters infinitely more than what any person says.
The stone the builders rejected became the cornerstone. Rejection is not the end of your story — it's often the beginning of what God is building. Many of the most anointed people in Scripture were rejected first. Joseph was rejected by his brothers. David was overlooked by his father. Jesus was rejected by His own people.
When you take Communion, you're saying: "I release the pain of rejection. I claim my acceptance in Christ. I declare that God's acceptance of me is complete. And I receive the healing that comes from knowing I am chosen by the One who matters most."
The Bread

Please take the bread.

Reflection
This bread represents the body of Christ — the Living Stone, rejected by men but chosen by God. When you receive this bread, you receive the acceptance of the One whose opinion matters most.
Prayer Over the Bread
Jesus, I thank You for Your broken body. I release the pain of rejection. I claim my acceptance in You. By Your stripes, the sting of rejection is healed. Thank You. Amen.

Please take the cup.

Reflection
When Jesus shed His blood, He purchased your permanent acceptance in the family of God. You are not a guest who might be asked to leave. You are an adopted son or daughter — permanent, secure, never to be rejected. When you receive this cup, you receive the promise that God will never reject you.
Prayer Over the Cup
Jesus, I thank You for Your blood. I claim permanent acceptance in God's family. By Your blood, I am accepted forever. Amen.
Drink the Cup
Together, let us receive the cup.

Closing Prayer
Father, I stand before You on behalf of everyone who has been rejected. Heal the wound. Replace the lie that they are unwanted with the truth that they are chosen. Let them walk in the complete acceptance that Jesus purchased. In Jesus' name, Amen.
