Worried About Money
When the bills are stacked and the bank account is empty — Jesus meets you at the Table. The God who fed His people with manna has not run out of provision. He's your Father, and He provides.
Welcome
Friend, if you are here because money is tight and the worry is real — I need you to hear something. The same God who did not spare His own Son but gave Him up for you will not withhold your rent money. The cross is the receipt. If He was willing to pay the ultimate price to make you His child, He is certainly willing to provide what His child needs.
Financial stress has a way of making you feel like God is distant. But your bank balance is not a measure of His presence or His love. He was with Elijah at the brook Cherith when the ravens brought food. He was with the widow at Zarephath whose flour and oil never ran out. He is with you right now — and His resources are not limited by the economy.
Worry is praying to a god who can't help. Communion is eating with the God who can.
Why This Communion Matters
There is a direct connection between Communion and provision. Jesus taught us to pray "Give us this day our daily bread" — and then He gave us bread at the Table. The same God who provided manna in the wilderness — one day at a time, just enough for that day — is the God who meets you at this Table. He is teaching you to trust Him for today's provision, not to hoard for a future you can't control.
When you receive Communion in a season of financial lack, you are making a declaration: "God, You are my source. I receive from You what no employer, no economy, and no human effort can provide." The bread in your hand is proof that God provides. The cup in your hand is proof that His covenant includes your needs.
This is not prosperity gospel. This is the gospel: the God who purchased your salvation with the blood of His Son will not abandon you to starve. He who gave you the greater gift will not withhold the lesser one.

A Word of Teaching
Paul wrote Philippians 4:19 from a prison cell. He was not writing from a place of abundance or comfort — he was writing from a place of dependence. And he was writing to the Philippians, who had given sacrificially to support his ministry even when they didn't have much themselves. The promise came in the context of generosity — they had sown into the Kingdom, and Paul assured them that God would meet their needs.
Notice the source: "according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus." Not according to the economy. Not according to your employer's payroll. Not according to your qualification for a loan. According to His riches — infinite, inexhaustible, unshakeable. And the channel: "in Christ Jesus." Your provision is connected to your relationship with Christ. If you are in Him, you have access to His resources.
At this Table, you are in Christ — intimately, tangibly. The bread and the cup are the evidence that you belong to Him, and everything He has is yours.
The Bread
Hold the bread in your hand. This bread represents the body of Jesus Christ. If God did not spare His own Son but gave Him up for you, how will He not also, along with Him, graciously give you all things? The cross is the receipt. The greater gift proves the lesser gifts will come.
This is daily bread — enough for today. Jesus taught us to pray "give us this day our daily bread," not "give us this year our annual salary." He wants you dependent on Him daily, because daily dependence builds trust. The manna came fresh every morning — and so will His provision.
"The God who gave His Son for me will provide what I need. I receive today's provision and trust Him for tomorrow's."
Eat the bread now, and let it be the end of financial anxiety for today.
The Cup
Hold the cup in your hand. This cup represents the blood of Jesus — the blood of the new covenant. This covenant includes the promise that God will meet all your needs. Your provision is not a gamble; it is a covenant right. The blood that saved your soul also sealed God's commitment to provide for your life.
When you drink this cup, you are agreeing with God: "I am in covenant with the One who owns everything. My future is not determined by my bank balance but by His promises. He has never failed me, and He will not fail me now."
"The blood of Jesus sealed my provision. I am in covenant with Jehovah Jireh. I will not be ruled by fear of lack."
Drink the cup now, and let His covenant peace replace your financial panic.
Closing Prayer
Lord Jesus, I came to this Table worried about what I don't have — and I leave trusting the One who has it all. You are my Provider, my Source, my Father who feeds the sparrows and clothes the lilies. I am worth more than birds to You, and I am taking You at Your word.
Thank You for the bread — proof that You provide daily for Your children. Thank You for the cup — proof that Your covenant includes my needs. I will not let fear about money steal another moment of peace. You've got this — and because You've got me, I'm going to be okay. Give me wisdom to steward well, open doors I haven't seen, and the faith to trust You when the math doesn't work. Amen.
Faith Declarations
My God supplies all my needs according to His riches in glory — not according to my bank balance.
I seek first the Kingdom of God, and everything I need is added to me.
God has never failed me, and He will not fail me now. My provision is in His hands.
I cast every financial worry on the Lord. I will not let money steal my peace.
The God who gave His Son for me will not withhold what I need. The cross is my receipt.
I am in covenant with Jehovah Jireh. My provision is sealed by the blood of Jesus.
