Prayers for the Lord's Table — remembrance, reflection, and covenant.
Before Receiving the Bread
Lord Jesus, I hold this bread in my hands and I remember. I remember Your body — broken for me. I remember the stripes on Your back — by which I am healed. I remember the nails in Your hands — the scars that purchased my redemption.
This bread is not just bread. It is a reminder that You took on flesh and dwelt among us. You became vulnerable. You became breakable. And You were broken so that I might be made whole. Thank You for Your body, given for me.
As I eat this bread, I receive Your healing — body, soul, and spirit. I receive Your strength for what lies ahead. I receive Your peace that surpasses understanding. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Before Receiving the Cup
Lord Jesus, I lift this cup and I remember Your blood — the blood of the new covenant, poured out for the forgiveness of sins. This is not just juice or wine. This is the reminder that my sins are forgiven. Past. Present. Future. All of them — covered by Your blood.
I am not forgiven because I earned it. I am not forgiven because I behaved well this week. I am forgiven because You bled for me. The price has been paid in full. There is nothing left for me to add. I receive Your forgiveness with gratitude and humility.
As I drink this cup, I remember that I am in covenant with You. I am Yours. You are mine. Nothing can separate me from Your love. In Jesus' name, Amen.

A Communion Declaration
I have received the body of Christ — I am healed, I am strengthened, I am whole. I have received the blood of Christ — I am forgiven, I am cleansed, I am redeemed. The old has gone, the new has come. I am a new creation in Christ. The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives in me.
I leave this table different than I came. I carry His presence with me. I carry His peace. I carry His power. I am in covenant with the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Nothing can stand against me because nothing can stand against Him.
Thank You, Jesus, for the table. Thank You for the invitation. Thank You that I am always welcome here. Amen.
