Prayer for Grandchildren

"Children's children are a crown to the aged." — Proverbs 17:6

Grandchildren are a legacy — a crown, the Scripture says. Praying for them is one of the most powerful things a grandparent can do. You may not be with them every day, but your prayers go where you cannot, covering them with protection, purpose, and the promises of God. This prayer is for grandparents who want to stand in the gap for the next generation.

A Prayer for Grandchildren

Father God, in the name of Jesus, I thank You for my grandchildren. I thank You for each one by name — for their unique personalities, their gifts, and the joy they bring. Today I plead the precious blood of Jesus over my grandchildren — over their minds, over their bodies, over their spirits, and over their futures.

I pray for their protection — physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Guard them from harm. Guard them from the schemes of the enemy. Guard them from the influences of a world that does not know You. Surround them with angels and with people who will speak life into them.

I pray for their salvation. Draw them to Jesus early. Let them grow up knowing who they are in Christ. Let them never know a day without the awareness of Your love.

I pray for their purpose. You have a plan for each one of them — plans to prosper them and not to harm them, plans to give them hope and a future. Let them walk in it fully.

I love You. I honor You. I give You all the glory. In the mighty name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Confession of Faith

I confess that my grandchildren are blessed. I confess that they will know the Lord. I confess that they are protected by the blood of Jesus. I confess that they will walk in the purpose God has for them.

Declaration

I declare that my grandchildren are covered. I declare that they will outlive me and carry the blessing forward. I declare that God's hand is on their lives. I declare that they are generational blessings.
