Prayer for Guilt

Father, I come before You carrying guilt. Guilt over things I've done — words I've said, choices I've made, people I've hurt, lines I've crossed. Guilt over things I've left undone — the phone call I never made, the apology I never offered, the help I didn't give. It's heavy. It follows me. It colors everything.

And Father — guilt over things I keep doing. The patterns I can't seem to break. The same sins I confess every week and keep falling back into. That guilt is the hardest, because it feels like I should have figured this out by now.

Lord, I bring all of it to the cross. Not trying to hide it. Not trying to minimize it. Not trying to earn forgiveness before I ask. I come just as I am — guilty — and I ask for the cleansing that only Jesus can give.

Your Word says if I confess my sins, You are faithful and just to forgive me and cleanse me from all unrighteousness. So I confess. I name the sin. I don't make excuses. I don't blame others. I own it, and I lay it at the foot of the cross where it belongs.

Now I receive Your forgiveness. Not because I feel forgiven — feelings follow faith. I receive it because You promised. Jesus paid for this sin. The blood of Christ is sufficient. There is nothing left to pay, no penance to perform, no guilt to carry. The debt is cancelled. The record is cleared.

For the recurring guilt — the shame that whispers I've confessed this too many times and You must be tired of forgiving me — I reject that lie. Your mercies are new every morning. Great is Your faithfulness. You don't keep a tally. You don't roll Your eyes at my repentance. You welcome it.

Holy Spirit, produce in me the fruit of true repentance. Not just feeling bad — that's worldly sorrow. But godly sorrow that leads to real change. Help me turn from what I've confessed. Give me strategies, accountability, and the supernatural power to walk differently.

Thank You that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Not some condemnation. No condemnation. I am free.
