Prayer for Mercy

Father, I come before You on behalf of every person crying out for Your mercy.

Lord, You are rich in mercy. Your Word says that because of Your great love for us, You made us alive in Christ even when we were dead in our transgressions. I stand on that mercy right now for every person reading this prayer. Whatever they have done, whatever they have failed to do, whatever they are ashamed of — I ask for Your mercy to cover it completely.

Father, mercy is not getting what we deserve. So I ask that You would not deal with us according to our sins or repay us according to our iniquities. As high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is Your love for those who fear You. As far as the east is from the west, so far have You removed our transgressions from us. Let this person feel that removal — not just know it, but feel it. Let them walk in the freedom of mercy received.

I ask for mercy over every area where this person has reaped consequences from their actions. You are the God who redeems. You restore the years the locusts have eaten. I ask for mercy that not only forgives but restores — mercy that turns the situation around, mercy that brings beauty from ashes.

I also pray for mercy over their body — mercy that heals. Mercy over their mind — mercy that renews. Mercy over their relationships — mercy that reconciles. Mercy over their future — mercy that rewrites the story.

Let the person reading this extend mercy to others. You said, "Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy." As they have received mercy, let them give it freely — to the one who hurt them, to the one who doesn't deserve it, to themselves.

Thank You, Father, that Your mercies are new every morning. Thank You that they never run out and You never grow tired of giving them. Thank You that great is Your faithfulness.
