Prayer for Prodigal Children

Father God, in the name of Jesus, I bring my child before You — the one who has wandered. You know where they are. You know what they're doing. You know the path they're on and where it leads. And You love them more than I ever could. Today I plead the precious blood of Jesus over my prodigal child — over their mind, over their heart, over their choices, and over their return.

Lord, pursue them. Not in a way that drives them further, but in a way that draws them back. Send people into their path who will speak truth in love. Remove the influences that are pulling them away from You. Let them not be comfortable in their wandering — let there be a holy dissatisfaction that reminds them where home is.

Protect them in the far country. The prodigal son ended up in a pig pen before he came to his senses. Lord, let the consequences of their choices bring them to repentance without destroying them. Put a hedge of protection around them even when they're not walking with You.

And prepare my heart for their return. Keep me from bitterness. Keep me from "I told you so." Let me be like the father who ran — who didn't wait for an apology, who didn't demand an explanation, who just embraced. Let my arms always be open.

I speak to the seeds that were planted in my child's life — seeds of faith, seeds of Scripture, seeds of love. I command those seeds to sprout. I declare that the Word of God hidden in their heart will not return void. It will accomplish what God sent it to do.

I love You. I honor You. I give You all the glory. In the mighty name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
