Prayer for Stewardship

"It is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful." — 1 Corinthians 4:2

Everything you have — your money, your time, your abilities, your relationships — is a gift entrusted to you by God. Stewardship is not just about what you give; it is about how you manage all of it. This prayer is for anyone who wants to grow in faithfulness with what they have been given and hear those beautiful words: "Well done, good and faithful servant."

A Prayer for Stewardship

Father God, I come before You with a grateful heart, acknowledging that everything I have is a gift from Your hand. My income, my home, my health, my time, my talents — none of it originated with me. You are the Source, and I am simply a steward, entrusted to manage Your resources for Your purposes and Your glory.

Lord, I confess the times I have been careless with what You gave me. Impulse purchases that did not honor You, hours wasted that could have been used for kingdom work, talents I buried because I was afraid or lazy. Forgive me, Father. Renew in me a heart that treats every resource as sacred because it belongs to You.

I ask You to make me a wise and faithful steward. Teach me to budget with intention, to save with discipline, to spend with purpose, and to give with joy. Help me to see money not as something to hoard, but as a tool to bless my family, serve my community, and advance Your kingdom. Give me the courage to say no to purchases that feed my flesh and yes to investments that bear eternal fruit.

Father, I pray for wisdom over my time — my most precious and non-renewable resource. Show me what deserves my yes and what needs my no. Help me to invest my energy where it will yield the greatest kingdom return, and release me from the pressure to do everything. Teach me the rhythm of work and rest that You modeled from the very beginning.

I want to hear You say, "Well done." I want my life — my finances, my calendar, my influence — to tell a story of faithfulness that outlasts me. Help me to build a legacy of stewardship that my children and grandchildren can follow, a pattern of generosity and wisdom that echoes into eternity.

Thank You for trusting me with so much. I do not take it lightly, and I commit to proving faithful with every measure You have placed in my hands. In Jesus' name, Amen.
