The Nicole Washington STILL HERE Scholarship
Honoring Adults Who Refused to Give Up

Why This Scholarship Exists
For the Dreams Life Could Not Erase
Every year, countless adults postpone the dreams God placed in their hearts because life interrupted them. Chronic illness. Caregiving for a parent, spouse, or child. Disability. Financial hardship. Unexpected loss. Major life transitions that no one saw coming. They push through. They keep showing up. They refuse to give up. And often, no one ever names it. No one ever honors it.
The Nicole Washington STILL HERE Scholarship exists to change that. It honors adults who have demonstrated extraordinary perseverance — people who continued pursuing their God-given calling even when life made it almost impossible. People who are still here. Still standing. Still becoming.
Education changes lives. But for many adults, the path to education, certification, ministry training, or career advancement has been interrupted, delayed, or blocked by circumstances no one asked for. This scholarship helps remove one more barrier — because the journey they were created to finish deserves to be finished.

A Personal Message
From Pastor Nicole Washington
Dear Friend,
I know what it is to have a dream interrupted. I know what it is to sit in a dialysis chair three times a week and wonder if the calling God placed on your life still has room to breathe. I know what it is to lose years to illness, to caregiving, to circumstances you never asked for — and to look up one day and wonder if it is too late to finish what you started.
It is not too late.
The calling God placed in your heart did not expire when life got hard. It did not disappear when you got sick, or when you became a caregiver, or when the money ran out, or when the door you thought would open stayed closed. It is still there. Waiting. And this scholarship exists because I believe — with everything in me — that the journey you were created to finish is worth fighting for.
I named this scholarship STILL HERE because those two words carry the weight of every person who has survived what should have taken them out and is still standing. You are still here. Your purpose is still here. And whatever was interrupted — your education, your ministry training, your certification, your career — can still be completed.
This scholarship is not about checking boxes. It is about honoring perseverance. It is about saying out loud: I see what you carried. I see that you kept going. And I believe in the destination God has for you.
If that is you — if you are the person who refused to give up — I want you to know that there is a community of people who believe in your journey. We are cheering for you. We are praying for you. And when the application opens, we would be honored to walk this next part of the road with you.
With hope and expectation,
Pastor Nicole Washington

An Interrupted Dream Is Not an Abandoned Dream
Whatever you are carrying. Whatever was interrupted. Whatever season you have walked through that no one else saw — your story is not over. The calling God placed in your heart did not expire when life got hard. It did not disappear when the diagnosis came, or when you became a caregiver, or when the door you thought would open stayed closed.
He is still writing your story. And the chapter that was interrupted — the one you thought was lost — may be the one He uses to reach someone else who is still standing, still becoming, still here.
You are still here for a reason.
