What if your faith scared someone?
Not in a weird way. But in a real way. A way that says: This person actually believes this. This person actually lives this. This isn't a game.
What if that scared people?
When Faith Gets Real
Imagine a believer who started preaching that the Bible should be applied to daily life. Not just quoted. Not just studied. Not just believed on Sundays and forgotten on Mondays.
Actually lived.
They preached that Christianity wasn't something you play at. It's something you do.
People told them to keep quiet. To enjoy their position. To preach nice sermons that didn't rock the boat.
But they wouldn't do it.
Someone heard them preach and said: "This person is dangerous to our cause."
They had to leave everything behind.
All because they preached that faith should be lived, not played.
Have We Become Too Comfortable?
Here's the question that should wake us up:
Have we become passive and unmotivated in our Christianity?
"These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me."
— Matthew 15:8
That's where we are. We honor Jesus with our words.
We say the right things.
We show up on the right days.
We do the right performances.
But our hearts? Far away.
"For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
— Romans 10:10
Notice: heart first. Not just mouth. Not just performance. Heart.
And then Paul wrote that both our heart and our body should be yielded to Christ. Not just on Sunday. Not just for show. Actually yielded.
But most of us have learned to play Christianity instead of living it. And that's not dangerous. And that's the problem.
What Does the Resurrection Actually Mean?
So let me ask you the hardest question:
What does the resurrection mean to you?
Not what it's supposed to mean. Not what the church says it means. What does it actually mean to YOU?
Because according to Scripture, there are three possible answers:
To some, it has no meaning at all.
For them, Easter Sunday is just another day. It's a day for work or pleasure. The resurrected Christ has no consideration in their life whatsoever. They might go to church. They might sing a song. But then they go home and live like Jesus never rose from the dead.
To some, it has the wrong meaning.
They think Easter is a high holy day—one day a year when you show up. They show up on Christmas and Easter and think that's enough.
"And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers."
— Acts 2:42
Steadfastly. Not once a year. Not twice a year. Steadfastly. And some people think Easter is about new spring clothes. About the debut of the season's apparel. About how you look on Easter Sunday. But that's not what the resurrection is about.
To some, it has the right meaning.
These are the people who understand that Easter is a day set aside to worship the resurrected Christ. To praise God that Christ is alive. And because He lives, they too can live forever. That's the real meaning.
This Should Change Everything
Here's what most believers don't get:
If Christ is actually alive, that should change everything about how you live.
Not just on Easter. Every day.
If Jesus rose from the dead, that means:
Death has no power over you.
Sin has been defeated.
The resurrection power that raised Jesus is available to you.
You can live in victory, not defeat.
You can live boldly, not timidly.
You can live dangerously—for Christ.
But most of us live small, safe, comfortable Christianity.
We don't want to be so serious about our faith that it threatens people.
We want to be liked.
We want to be accepted.
We want to fit in.
So we play.
We play church. We play faith. We play Christian.
But that's not what the resurrection demands.
What Makes Faith Dangerous?
Real faith isn't dangerous because it's mean or aggressive.
Real faith is dangerous because it actually believes what it preaches and lives it out.
That's threatening to a world that wants religion to stay in the church building and never touch real life.
But that's exactly what the resurrection demands.
If Christ rose from the dead, then His power is real. His authority is real. His promises are real. And they're not just for spiritual theory — they're for actual, daily, lived-out life.
And when you start living like that — when you start actually believing and actually acting on your faith — suddenly you become dangerous to the system.
Dangerous to compromise.
Dangerous to apathy.
Dangerous to spiritual passivity.
You become a threat to everything that wants to keep Christianity small and safe and separated from real life.
And maybe that's exactly what we need to be.
The Question for You
So I'm asking you directly:
What does the resurrection mean to you?
Is it just a holiday? Just a day off work? Just a nice service and a nice outfit?
Or is it the foundation of everything you do? The reality that changes how you live, how you speak, how you work, how you relate to people?
If Christ is alive—and He is—then that should make you dangerous.
Dangerous to the lies that say you can't be healed.
Dangerous to the systems that say you can't be free.
Dangerous to the voices that say you can't live boldly for Christ.
That's what real faith looks like. It costs something. It's not comfortable.
But it makes you powerful.

Be honest. Not what it should mean. What it actually means.
2. Are you playing Christianity or living it?
Where's the difference showing up?
3. If your faith became serious—if you actually lived it out—what would change?
4. Are you willing to be "dangerous" for Christ?
What would that cost? What would it gain?
Prayer
Father, forgive me for playing Christianity when You deserve my whole heart. Forgive me for keeping my faith safe and small when Christ rose from the dead to give me power and freedom.
Make the resurrection real to me. Not just a historical fact or a holiday. Make it a living, breathing reality that changes how I live every single day.
Give me the courage to be dangerous for You. To live boldly. To speak truth. To not compromise. To actually believe and actually act on what I say I believe.
The same power that raised Jesus from the dead lives in me. Help me live like it. Help me act like it. Help me be a threat to everything that opposes Your Kingdom.
Because Christ is alive, I can live. Help me do it.
