You are welcome here — whether this is the very first time you are reaching toward God or you have walked with Him for decades. Whether you are responding to a sermon, a conversation with a friend, or a quiet pull in your spirit that you cannot explain — this Communion Service was prepared for you.

Salvation is the most important decision any human being will ever make. It is the moment when you stop trying to save yourself and trust fully in what Jesus has already done. It is not about being good enough, religious enough, or clean enough. It is about receiving a gift — the free, unearned, unmerited gift of eternal life purchased by the blood of Jesus Christ. And if today is a renewal rather than a first step, welcome back. The Father has been watching the road for you.

Why This Communion Matters

Every human being is born with a problem that no amount of good behavior can solve: separation from God. Sin — the rebellion in our hearts that says "I will do it my way" — created a chasm between us and our Creator. And we could never bridge it on our own. Religion tries. Good works try. But only one thing closes the gap: the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross.

Jesus didn't come to make bad people good. He came to make dead people alive. When He hung on the cross, He wasn't just enduring physical pain — He was absorbing the full wrath of God against all sin, for all time, for all who would believe. When He said, "It is finished," He meant it. The debt is paid. The gap is bridged. The way is open.

At the Communion Table, you hold in your hands the tangible reminder of everything salvation means. The bread — His body, given for you. The cup — His blood, poured out for the forgiveness of sins. This is not a ritual. It is a declaration: I was lost, and now I am found. I was dead, and now I am alive. I was an enemy of God, and now I am His child.

Primary Scripture

John 3:16–17

"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him."

Romans 10:9–10

"If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved."

Read these verses again — slowly. Let each word settle in your spirit.

Short Teaching

John 3:16 is often the first verse people memorize — and for good reason. In one sentence, it contains the entire gospel: the motive (God's love), the action (He gave His Son), the condition (whoever believes), and the result (eternal life). It is the most concise summary of God's plan of salvation ever written.

But notice what John 3:17 adds immediately: "God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save it." Many people live with a low-grade fear that God is angry at them, waiting for them to slip up. But the cross proves the opposite. God is not against you — He is for you. The cross was not an act of divine anger against humanity; it was an act of divine love absorbing the penalty so that humanity could be free.

And then Paul gives us the simplicity of salvation in Romans 10:9–10: confess with your mouth and believe in your heart. That's it. No elaborate ritual. No probation period. No proving yourself worthy first. The moment you confess Jesus as Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you are saved. Justified. Made right with God. Born again. The transaction is instant, complete, and irreversible. What Communion does is anchor this truth in your body as well as your mind — you taste and see that the Lord is good.

Part One

The Bread

His Body — Given for Your Salvation

Prayer Over the Bread

Lord Jesus,

I hold this bread, and I remember Your body. You took on human flesh — born in a manger, raised in Nazareth, walking dusty roads, healing the sick, teaching the crowds — all of it leading to the cross. Your body was the vehicle of my salvation. Every step You took was a step toward Calvary. Every word You spoke was leading to the moment You would give Your life for mine.

Your body was broken so that I could be made whole. The punishment that brought me peace was upon You. By Your wounds, I am healed. I receive the salvation that Your broken body purchased — full, complete, and eternal. I am no longer my own. I belong to You, and I am safe in Your hands forever.

Thank You, Jesus. You gave Your body for me. I receive the gift of salvation through Your sacrifice. Amen.

Receive the Bread

Take the bread now. Eat it slowly. As you do, receive the salvation that Christ's broken body purchased for you — you are forgiven, redeemed, and made new.

Part Two

The Cup

His Blood — Poured Out for the Forgiveness of Sins

Prayer Over the Cup

Lord Jesus,

I hold this cup, and I remember Your blood — the blood of the New Covenant, poured out for the forgiveness of sins. Without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness. And Your blood was the perfect, spotless, once-for-all sacrifice that satisfied the justice of God and opened the door of mercy for all who believe.

I receive the full forgiveness of my sins right now. Every sin I have ever committed — every thought, every word, every action, every failure — is covered by Your blood. I am not partially forgiven. I am not on probation. I am washed clean. As far as the east is from the west, so far have You removed my transgressions from me. I receive this forgiveness personally, completely, and joyfully.

If this is my first time receiving salvation, I confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord, and I believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead. I am saved. If this is a renewal, I renew my confession: Jesus is Lord, and His blood has made me clean.

Thank You, Jesus. Amen.

Receive the Cup

Drink now. As you do, receive the fullness of the New Covenant — complete forgiveness, eternal life, and adoption into the family of God.

Closing Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for this time at Your Table. Thank You for the body and blood of Jesus — for the salvation, forgiveness, and eternal life they purchased for me. I believe that I am saved — not by my own efforts, not by my own righteousness, but entirely by the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross.

I leave this Table differently than I came. I came dead in my sins — and I leave alive in Christ. I came separated from God — and I leave reconciled, adopted, and welcomed into the family. I came with a debt I could never pay — and I leave with a receipt stamped "Paid in Full" by the blood of Jesus. This is not my doing. This is grace — pure, unearned, overflowing grace.

Walk with me now, Holy Spirit. Seal this salvation in my heart. Give me the assurance that I belong to God and that nothing can snatch me out of His hand. Grow in me the fruit of salvation — love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Lead me into the life You created me for.

Faith Declarations

I am saved by grace through faith — it is the gift of God, not by works. (Ephesians 2:8–9)
