Prayer for Addiction in the Family
"No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful." — 1 Corinthians 10:13
Watching a loved one struggle with addiction is its own kind of pain. This prayer is for families — asking for God's intervention, for wisdom about boundaries, for faith that does not waver, and for hope that recovery is coming.
A Prayer for Addiction in the Family
Father God, in the name of Jesus, I thank You that my loved one is not beyond Your reach. I thank You that recovery is possible. I thank You that You can break addiction's grip. Today I plead the precious blood of Jesus over my loved one, over their addiction, over their recovery, over their choice, and over God's complete intervention and deliverance.
I thank You that You love them even more than I do. I thank You for the ability to pray while maintaining healthy boundaries. I thank You for wisdom about when to speak and when to be silent. I thank You for faith that does not waver even if they do not yet choose recovery. I thank You for hope for their future.
I thank You that my loved one is moving toward recovery. I thank You that God is working in their life. I thank You that I can trust God's timeline. I thank You that recovery is coming.
I love You. I honor You. I give You all the glory. In the mighty name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
