When Caregiving Is Overwhelming

"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." — 2 Corinthians 12:9

Right now it feels like too much. You know you are capable. You know you have done hard things before. But in this moment — it feels like too much. God does not ask you to be superhuman. He asks you to be faithful. And He shows up in the overwhelming moments.

Short Declarations

This is hard and I acknowledge that. Hard does not mean I am doing it wrong. Hard means I am human and the assignment is real. God does not ask me to be superhuman. He asks me to be faithful — and faithful I am. I am not failing. I am carrying something heavy. There is grace for this moment. I ask for help and help comes. God is in the overwhelming moments too. I will get through today. That is enough.

A Prayer for Overwhelming Moments

Father God, I have to be honest.

Right now this feels like too much.

I know that I am capable. I know that I have done hard things before. I know that You have given me strength I did not know I had.

But right now in this moment — it feels like too much.

And I need You to show up.

Not with a speech. Not with a to-do list. Not with a reminder of how much worse things could be.

Just — show up.

Be near.

Remind me that I am not carrying this alone.

Because the feeling of being alone in it is sometimes the heaviest part.

I give You this moment, Father. This overwhelmed, exhausted, not-sure-I-can-do-this moment. I put it in Your hands.

And I ask You to carry what I cannot carry. And to give me what I need to carry what I must.

One moment at a time.

In Jesus' name. Amen.
