Prayer for Dialysis

Father, I come before You on behalf of every person receiving dialysis treatment.

Lord, I thank You for the gift of medical technology — for dialysis that sustains life when kidneys cannot. I ask You to bless every treatment session. Let the dialysis be effective. Let it clean the blood thoroughly. Let it remove what needs to be removed and preserve what needs to be preserved. Protect from infection. Protect from complications. Let the access site — whether fistula, graft, or catheter — remain healthy and functional.

I pray for strength in the chair. For those doing hemodialysis — three, four, five hours at a time — I ask for supernatural endurance. When the needle goes in, let Your peace flood their spirit. When the fatigue sets in, be their energy. When boredom or discouragement creeps in during those long hours, fill their mind with Your presence and Your promises.

I pray for those doing peritoneal dialysis at home. Give them strength for the daily routine. Protect from peritonitis. Let the exchanges go smoothly. Give them the discipline they need and the grace when they feel worn down.

Father, I pray for the life outside the chair — the hours between treatments. Restore energy. Let them still have strength for family, for purpose, for joy. Help them not feel defined by dialysis but defined by You.

I also pray for the hope of something more — whether that's improved kidney function, a transplant, or simply sustained strength for the journey. You are the God of hope. Fill them with hope that does not disappoint.

Thank You, Father, that You meet us in the chair. You are not distant from the dialysis center. Your presence fills every treatment room. You are with us.
