Prayer for Organ Transplant

"I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you." — Ezekiel 36:26

A transplant is a second chance at life — but the journey to get there is overwhelming. The waiting. The uncertainty. The fear that the call might not come. And when it does, the surgery and recovery are major. There is also the weight of knowing that someone else's loss made this gift possible — a donor family grieving while you receive. It is a complex emotional and medical journey unlike any other. God is present in operating rooms and recovery units. He is the giver of every good gift. This prayer is for everyone touched by organ transplant — those waiting, those recovering, donor families, and the medical teams who make it possible.

A Prayer for Organ Transplant

Father God, in the name of Jesus, I come to You in this transplant journey. I thank You that You are the giver of life. I thank You for medical science and the gift of transplantation. I thank You for the selfless gift of organ donors and their families.

I acknowledge the fear. The waiting. The uncertainty. I acknowledge how dependent I am — on donors, on doctors, on timing beyond my control. I acknowledge the weight of knowing someone else's loss made this gift possible.

I plead the precious blood of Jesus over the donor organ — that my body would accept it and not reject it. Over the surgeons and medical team — skill, wisdom, steady hands. Over the recovery — healing without complications. Over the donor family — comfort in their grief.

Guide every medical decision. Sustain my body through surgery and recovery. Let this transplant be fully successful — a new chapter of health and life. Bless the donor family. Let me steward well the gift I have been given.

I commit to trusting You through every step of this journey. Thank You for second chances. Thank You for the gift of life. I love You. I honor You. In the mighty name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
