Strength for the Long Journey
"Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus." — Hebrews 12:1
For those who have been at this for months — for years. When the weariness is real and the question underneath everything is: how much longer? God is faithful for the long journey. Not just the dramatic moments — the ordinary Tuesday of the tenth month of a fight that has no clear end date. He is faithful there too.
Short Declarations
I am in this for the long haul. My endurance does not depend on my feelings. My endurance depends on God's faithfulness. He is faithful for the long journey. I will not quit. I will not give up. I will not stop believing. Endurance is being built in me through this process. What is being developed in me is greater than what is being taken from me. I am going to finish this race.
Scripture: Hebrews 12:1, James 1:3-4, Romans 5:3-4
A Prayer for Endurance on the Long Journey
Father God, I am tired.
Not in a crisis — just in the steady, accumulated way that comes from fighting something for a long time.
I have been at this for months. For some of us, for years.
And there are days when the weariness is real and the question underneath everything is — how much longer?
I bring that question to You honestly today.
I do not know how much longer.
But You do.
And what I know about You is that You are faithful for the long journey. Not just for the dramatic moments. For the ordinary Tuesday of the tenth month of a fight that has no clear end date.
You are faithful there too.
So I ask for endurance today.
Not excitement. Not a dramatic spiritual high. Just the steady, persistent, one-more-day faith that keeps showing up even when showing up is hard.
That kind of faith is not glamorous. But it is real. And it is what today requires.
Give it to me, Father.
In Jesus' name. Amen.
