Prayer for Worship

Almighty God, You alone are worthy of all praise, all honor, and all glory. You are the King of kings and the Lord of lords, the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I bow my heart before You today, not out of religious routine, but out of deep, genuine awe at who You are. You are holy, and I worship You.

Father, I confess that too often I have brought You distracted worship — lips moving while my heart wandered elsewhere. Forgive me for the Sundays I sang songs without meaning the words. Forgive me for the times I have treated worship like entertainment instead of encounter. Purify my worship, Lord. Strip away every pretense and every performance. I want to be one of the worshipers You are seeking — one who worships in Spirit and in truth.

Holy Spirit, teach me what it means to worship beyond the music. Let my worship be expressed in my obedience, in my love for others, in the way I handle my work, and in the words I speak when no one is watching. Let my entire life become an offering of praise. Whether I am singing in the congregation or serving in the quiet, let everything I do be done as worship unto You.

I ask You to open the eyes of my heart to see more of Your glory. When I truly see You — high and lifted up, seated on the throne — my response cannot help but be worship. Give me fresh revelation of Your majesty, Your mercy, and Your might. Let my worship rise not from what You have done for me, but from who You are in Yourself — the uncreated, eternal, all-sufficient God.

Lord, I release my inhibitions to You. I will not hold back my praise because of what others might think. If David danced before You with all his might, I will not be too dignified to lift my hands, to bow my knees, and to pour out my heart before You. You are worthy of extravagant, abandoned worship, and I give You all of me today.

Thank You, Father, for inviting me into Your presence through the blood of Jesus. I do not take this privilege lightly. I come into Your courts with praise and Your gates with thanksgiving. I bless Your holy name, now and forever. Let my worship be a sweet fragrance rising to Your throne. In the matchless name of Jesus, Amen.
