Be strong and courageous. God goes before you — and He never leaves your side.

Courage is not the absence of fear — it is moving forward in spite of it. God's command to "be strong and courageous" is not a suggestion; it is an empowerment. These Scriptures remind you that your strength does not come from your own reserves — it comes from the One who never grows tired.

The Real Teaching

God does not command what He does not empower. When He told Joshua to be strong and courageous, He didn't leave Joshua to figure out how. He anchored the command in a promise: "for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." Your courage is not about you summoning enough guts — it's about trusting the One who goes before you.

What This Looks Like

You're standing at the edge of something that terrifies you. A diagnosis. A conversation. A decision. A step of faith. The fear is real — but so is the God who commands you to move forward. Isaiah 41:10 is personal: "I will strengthen you and help you." Not "I might." Not "if you deserve it." I will. That is the God you serve.

What to Do

Name the fear. You can't fight what you won't admit. Bring it into the light before God.
Replace fear with truth. For every "what if," find a "God will." Scripture is your best weapon against fear.
Take the next step. Courage is not a feeling — it is obedience. Move forward even when your knees are shaking.
Remember who goes with you. You are never alone. The God who commands courage walks beside you.
Wait on the Lord for renewed strength. When you're exhausted, stop striving. Those who hope in Him get fresh strength.
Let past faithfulness fuel present courage. Remember what God has already brought you through. He is the same God today.
