Fear Is a Liar
Fear is not from God. Power, love, and self-discipline are.
The Fear Won't Stop
• Your heart is racing. You can't breathe.
• Worst-case scenarios are playing in your head.
• You can't sleep. You can't relax.
• You're waiting for something bad to happen.
• And you're exhausted from it.
But the Bible has something to say about fear.
2 Timothy 1:7
"For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline."
Fear is not from God. Power, love, and self-discipline are from God.
If you're living in fear, you're believing a lie. You've received power. Use it.
Philippians 4:6-7
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
Don't stay in anxiety. Pray instead. Tell God what you're scared of. Give Him your fear. And He'll replace it with peace.
The Truth About Fear
Fear is usually not about what's happening now. It's about what might happen. It's about possibilities. It's about worst-case scenarios. But most of those things never happen.
You've been scared a thousand times. And you're still here.
Fear is lying to you. It's saying you can't handle it. But you can. You have. You will.
What to Do
Identify the fear.
What exactly are you afraid of? Get specific.
Ask: Is this real right now?
Or am I living in a possibility?
Pray. Give it to God.
"Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you." (1 Peter 5:7)
Remind yourself.
God is with me. He is bigger. He is not surprised.
Take action.
Sometimes fear dies when you do the thing anyway.
Repeat:
"Perfect love drives out all fear." (1 John 4:18) God's love for you is bigger than your fear.
Prayer
Father, I give You my fear.
Help me remember that You are bigger.
Help me stop living in worst-case scenarios.
Help me trust You.
Replace my fear with Your peace.
Help me be brave.
In Jesus's name, Amen.
Declaration
"I declare: I am not afraid. God is with me. I have power, love, and self-discipline. Fear is a liar. I trust God completely."
Speak this aloud. Your words carry faith.
Biblical Truth Summary
Fear does not come from God. The Spirit He gave you is a Spirit of power, love, and a sound mind. When fear whispers worst-case scenarios, God speaks peace. When anxiety tightens your chest, His presence loosens it. You have survived every fearful thought that ever came against you. You can survive this one too. Fear is a liar — and the truth will set you free.
