You scroll past someone's announcement and your stomach drops. They got the thing you wanted. The promotion. The marriage. The opportunity. And instead of being happy for them, you feel sick. Comparison is the thief of joy — but it doesn't have to be. What if their success doesn't threaten yours? What if God has enough for both of you?

The Real Teaching
Jealousy tells you there's not enough — not enough success, not enough love, not enough attention. But God is not limited. His favor on someone else doesn't subtract from His favor on you. When you celebrate someone else's blessing, you're not just being nice — you're declaring that you trust God to take care of you too. Envy rots the bones; celebration builds them.
What This Looks Like
You unfollow someone because their success makes you feel inadequate. You downplay someone else's achievement with "must be nice." You secretly hope they fail so you feel better about yourself. Comparison turns every blessing into a competition. But God didn't create you to compete — He created you to complete.
What to Do
- Acknowledge it. Admit when you're jealous. You can't fix what you won't face.
- Celebrate out loud. Say it: "I'm happy for them." Even if you don't feel it yet — your words shape your heart.
- Remember your lane. Their race is not your race. Stay in yours.
- Count your own blessings. Gratitude kills envy every time.
- Pray for them. It's hard to resent someone you're praying for.
- Trust God's timing. What's for you won't miss you — and comparison won't hurry it up.
