Done Is Better Than Perfect
If you wait until it's perfect, you'll wait forever.
You rewrite the email five times before you send it. You delay launching the thing because it's "not ready yet." You compare your behind-the-scenes to everyone else's highlight reel. Perfectionism is not excellence — it's fear disguised as standards. God doesn't ask for perfect. He asks for willing. Done is better than perfect.

The Real Teaching
Perfectionism sounds noble — "I just have high standards." But it's actually a prison. Perfectionism keeps you from finishing because you're too afraid of getting it wrong. It's not the same as excellence. Excellence says "I'll do my best." Perfectionism says "If it's not flawless, it's worthless." That's not from God. God uses imperfect people to do perfect work — not because they're flawless, but because He is.
What This Looks Like
You have a project you've been "working on" for years but never released. You obsess over tiny details nobody else would notice. You avoid trying new things because you might not be good at them immediately. Perfectionism is procrastination in a tuxedo. It looks productive, but it's keeping you stuck.
What to Do
- Ship it at 80%. You can improve it later. You can't improve what doesn't exist.
- Separate identity from output. Your worth is not measured by your work.
- Embrace feedback. Criticism doesn't kill you — it grows you.
- Celebrate progress, not perfection. Did you move forward? That's a win.
- Let God fill the gaps. His power is made perfect in your weakness.
- Remember: done > perfect. Every single time.
