Calling Others Higher

Father God, You have entrusted me with influence in someone's life — and I don't take that lightly. Whether it's my children, my team, my students, or my friends — help me to call them higher. Help me to see who they could become, not just who they are right now.

Give me the courage to speak truth — even when it's uncomfortable. Let me not shy away from hard conversations because I fear their rejection. If I love them, I must sometimes challenge them. Help me to do it with gentleness and clarity, not harshness or judgment.

Give me the wisdom to know when to push and when to wait. Not everyone is ready for every challenge at every moment. Help me to discern where they are — and to invite them one step further, not ten steps beyond their reach.

Let my own life be an example I'm not ashamed for them to follow. I can't call them to a place I'm not willing to go myself. Help me to keep growing, keep risking, keep becoming — so that my invitation is backed by my own journey.

And when they rise — let me celebrate without envy. Let their growth not threaten me. Let me be the kind of leader who wants them to surpass me, not stay beneath me. I am not their ceiling; I am a stepping stone. Help them to go further than I ever did — for Your glory.
