Facing Fear & Anxiety

Father God, I come to You afraid. I don't have it all together. I don't have a brave face to put on. The fear is real, and it's been with me for a while — sometimes as a whisper, sometimes as a roar. The "what-ifs" loop in my mind, and no amount of rational thinking makes them stop.

I confess that I have been trying to control things that were never mine to control. I have been carrying burdens that You never asked me to carry. I have been trying to predict the future instead of trusting the One who already holds it.

Replace my spirit of fear with Your Spirit of power — not power to dominate, but power to endure. Replace it with love — the love that drives out fear because perfect love casts out fear. Replace it with a sound mind — not a mind free from every anxious thought, but a mind anchored in what is true.

When the fear comes at 3 a.m., be my peace. When it whispers worst-case scenarios, shout Your promises louder. When my body reacts — the racing heart, the tight chest — calm me with Your presence.

I give You my "what-ifs." What if the test results are bad — You are still good. What if I lose them — You will hold me. What if I fail — You will redeem it. What if the worst happens — You are still sovereign, and I am still Yours.

I trust You, even when I'm shaking. Amen.
