You've Got Access to Power You're Not Using
You're walking around with the most powerful force in the universe available to you, and you're not tapping into it. You're facing situations that feel impossible. You're dealing with circumstances that seem immovable. You're praying about things that don't change.
But what if the problem isn't that God doesn't have power? What if the problem is that you don't know how to access the power that's already yours? What if there's a difference between God having power and you operating in God's power?
Because there is. And that difference changes everything.
God's Power vs. Your Power vs. God's Power Running Through You
Let me be very clear about something: You don't have your own power. You can't heal yourself. You can't move mountains. You can't command nature. You can't do any of the things that matter. But God can. God has all power. God's power is infinite. God's power raised Jesus from the dead. God's power created the universe.
Now here's the revelation: When you became a believer, God didn't just give you access to His power. He made you a VESSEL through which His power can flow. You're the channel. God is the source. And when God's power runs through you, things that are impossible become possible.
But you have to understand how to access it. You have to understand how to tap into it. You have to understand that you're not the source — you're the conduit.
The Foundation: Romans 8:11
"If the Spirit of the one who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, the one who raised Jesus from the dead will make your mortal body alive through his Spirit who lives in you."
— Romans 8:11 (God's Word Translation)
Stop and read that again. The SAME SPIRIT that raised Jesus from the dead lives in you. The power that brought Jesus back to life is operating inside you. That's not poetic language. That's not metaphor. That's literal. The resurrection power is in you.
But most people don't know it. Most people don't access it. Most people walk around with resurrection power available to them and they operate like they're powerless. That's what we're going to change.
Exodus 10: When God's Power Flows Through You to Command Nature
Moses didn't have special powers. Moses was a man. He was born in Egypt. He grew up as an orphan. He ran from Egypt as a fugitive. He spent 40 years in the wilderness tending sheep. He had nothing special about him. But God chose him. God called him. God said, "I'm going to use you to deliver my people."
And Moses said, "No. I can't. I can't speak. I can't do this." But God said, "I will be with you. My power will flow through you. And things will change." And they did.
The Locust Plague: Exodus 10:12-15
"Then the LORD said to Moses, 'Lift your hand over the land of Egypt to bring the locusts. Let them cover the land and eat all the plants that the hail has left.' So Moses raised his staff over Egypt, and the LORD caused an east wind to blow across the land all that day and throughout the night. When morning arrived, the east wind had brought the locusts. And the locusts swarmed over all the land of Egypt... It was the worst plague of locusts in Egyptian history, and there has never been anything like it since." — Exodus 10:12-15 (NLT)
Do you see what happened here? Moses didn't control the wind. Moses didn't summon the locusts. Moses didn't have the power. But God DID. And when Moses lifted his staff — when he acted as the vessel — God's power flowed through him. And the result was catastrophic. An entire nation was brought to its knees by locusts. By one man tapping into God's power.
The Key Element: Moses' Action
Here's what most people miss: Moses had to do something. Moses had to lift his staff. Moses had to speak. Moses had to act as the vessel. God didn't just make it rain locusts while Moses sat passively. God said, "Lift your hand."
And when Moses lifted his hand — when he partnered with God through action — God's power flowed through him and the result was undeniable. This is critical: God's power flowing through you requires your participation. You're not passive. You're active. You lift your hand. You speak the word. You take the action. And God's power flows through that action.
Moses understood something critical: He was the instrument, not the power source. He wasn't trying to believe hard enough to summon locusts. He wasn't meditating to access some inner power. He was saying, "God, I'm available. I'm your vessel. Your power flows through me." And God's power responded.
Here's what you need to understand: When you tap into God's power, it's not about believing in yourself. It's about getting out of the way and letting God's power flow through you. You're the pipe. God is the water. The pipe doesn't question whether the water can flow through it. The pipe just gets out of the way and lets the water flow.
Joshua 10: When God's Power Flows Through You to Command the Heavens
If Moses commanding locusts was impressive, Joshua commanding the sun and moon is something else entirely. This isn't about affecting one nation for a season. This is about commanding the very heavens. This is about controlling the rotation of celestial bodies. This is about God's power doing the impossible through a man.
The Command: Joshua 10:12-13
"On the day the LORD gave the Israelites victory over the Amorites, Joshua prayed to the LORD in front of all the people of Israel. He said, 'Let the sun stand still over Gibeon and the moon over the Valley of Aijalon!' So the sun stood still and the moon stayed in place until the nation of Israel had defeated their enemies."
— Joshua 10:12-13 (NLT)
"There has never been a day like this one before or since, when the LORD answered such a request from a human being."
Joshua didn't ask God nicely. Joshua didn't say, "God, if you could possibly extend the day, that would be great." Joshua COMMANDED. He spoke to the sun. He spoke to the moon. And they obeyed. Because God's power was flowing through his words.
Think about what this means. Joshua commanded the celestial bodies. The sun and moon are governed by God's power. These are not small things. These are some of the biggest forces in the universe. And Joshua, a man, commanded them. How is that possible? Because God's power was flowing through him.
God said, "You are my vessel. When you speak with my authority, I will back it up. When you command with my power, even the sun and moon will obey." And that's exactly what happened.
The Pattern: How God's Power Flows Through You
Look at both Moses and Joshua. There's a pattern:
First: They got clear that they were vessels, not sources. Moses said, "I can't do this alone." Joshua trusted that God would fight.
Second: They aligned with God's will. They weren't acting on their own desires. They were acting on God's assignment.
Third: They spoke or acted with authority. Moses lifted his staff. Joshua commanded the sun and moon.
Fourth: They got out of the way. They didn't try to control the outcome. They spoke/acted and let God's power do the work.
Fifth: The result was undeniable. Locusts came. The day was extended. God's power was on display.
When you follow this pattern, you tap into the same power that Moses and Joshua tapped into. You access the power that raised Jesus from the dead. And everything changes.
How to Actually Access God's Power Running Through You
Accept That You Are a Vessel
Stop thinking you have to be powerful. Stop thinking you have to be special. Stop thinking you have to earn this. You don't. You're a vessel. That's enough.
"God can do anything, you know — far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by showing off in the powers we see but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us." — Ephesians 3:20 (The Message)
Align Your Will With God's Will
You don't tap into God's power to do whatever you want. You tap into God's power to do what God wants. When you align your will with God's will, you access God's power. When you try to use God's power for your own purposes, it doesn't work. Alignment is the key.
"The Son cannot do anything on his own. He does only what he sees the Father doing. What the Father does, the Son does in the same way." — John 5:19 (God's Word Translation)
Speak With Conviction
Moses didn't ask for permission to bring locusts. Joshua didn't ask nicely for the sun to stop. They SPOKE. They COMMANDED. When you speak, speak with the conviction that you're operating in God's authority. Not in arrogance. In faith. Speak it like you believe it. Because God's power is backing you up.
Take Action as the Vessel
God's power flowing through you isn't passive. It's active. Moses had to lift his staff. Joshua had to speak. You have to do something. You speak. You move. You act. And God's power flows through your action. You're not sitting passively waiting for God to do everything. You're partnering with God by taking action.
"For just as the body without breath is dead, so faith without works is dead." — James 2:26 (The Message)
Get Out of the Way
Stop trying to make it happen. Moses didn't have to figure out how to make locusts appear. Joshua didn't have to understand the physics of stopping the sun. They spoke and God handled the result. You speak. You act. You declare the word. And then you trust God to make it happen. You don't have to figure it out. You trust God and act as the vessel. The power is God's. The responsibility is God's. You just have to be available.
"Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take." — Proverbs 3:5-6 (NLT)
What This Means For Your Life Right Now
You're facing a situation that feels impossible. You think you need to figure it out. You think you need to be strong enough or smart enough or capable enough. But what if you don't?
What if the solution is not about being more of something? What if the solution is tapping into God's power?
You have access to the same power Moses had. You have access to the same power Joshua had. You have access to the power that raised Jesus from the dead.
It's running through you right now. It's available to you right now. You just have to tap into it.
Speak to your circumstances with the authority of God. Command the situation in Jesus's name. Act as the vessel. Get out of the way. And watch God's power transform what feels impossible into undeniable reality.
The Reality: This Is How God Operates
This isn't theoretical. This isn't abstract. This is how God operates. God works through people. God's power flows through vessels. When you become available, when you align yourself with God's will, when you speak and act with the authority of God's name, God's power flows through you and things that are impossible become inevitable.
"My grace is enough; it's all you need. My strength comes into its own in your weakness." — 2 Corinthians 12:9 (The Message)
You don't have to be strong. You have to be available. You have to be willing. You have to understand that you're the pipe and God is the water. And when you get that, everything changes.
An Invitation to Tap Into the Power
This is my invitation to you. Stop trying to solve everything with your own strength. Stop thinking you have to figure it all out. Stop accepting that your situation is permanent.
Instead, understand this: God's power is running through you. The same power that brought Jesus back from the dead is operating in you. Align yourself with God's will. Speak with authority. Act as the vessel. Get out of the way. Let God's power flow. And watch what He does.
Your breakthrough is not about you becoming powerful. Your breakthrough is about you getting out of the way so God's power can work through you.
You've got access. Now use it.
A Prayer to Tap Into God's Power
Father, help me understand that I'm a vessel for Your power.
Help me stop trying to be the source and start being the channel. Help me align my will with Your will. Help me speak with authority in Your name. Help me act as Your representative. Help me get out of the way so Your power can flow through me.
Give me the faith of Moses. Give me the authority of Joshua. Give me access to the resurrection power that raised Jesus from the dead.
Let Your power run through me and transform what seems impossible.
In Jesus's name, Amen.
