Opening Question
Okay, so you understand the basics:
God loves you. You're a sinner. Jesus died for you. You need to believe in Jesus.
But how do you actually do that?
How do you ask God to save you?
The answer is simpler than you think.
It's Not Complicated
First, let me tell you: Salvation isn't complicated.
There's no special formula. No magic words. No elaborate ritual.
You don't have to go to church first. You don't have to read certain books. You don't have to get cleaned up or worthy.
You just ask.
Listen to what Jesus said:
Matthew 7:7-8
"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened."
Ask. That's it.
Ask God to save you. And He will.
What You Need to Believe
Now, "just ask" doesn't mean the words are magic and the content doesn't matter. Prayer isn't a spell — it's a conversation. And what you believe about who you're talking to shapes everything.
Before you pray, here's what your heart needs to be settled on:
Jesus is God's Son.
Jesus is not just a good teacher. Jesus is God in human form. God's only Son.
Jesus died for your sins.
Jesus went to the cross. Jesus shed His blood. Jesus took your place. Jesus paid for your sins.
Jesus rose from the dead.
Jesus didn't just die and stay dead. Jesus rose on the third day. Jesus is alive.
Jesus is Lord.
Jesus has authority. Jesus is in charge. Jesus deserves your submission and worship.
If you believe these four things, you're ready to ask God to save you.
Listen:
Romans 10:9
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."
Confess Jesus with your mouth. Believe in your heart. You'll be saved.
A Simple Prayer
You can use this prayer. Or you can pray in your own words. Either way is fine.
The important thing is that you mean it. You genuinely ask God to save you.
A Prayer of Salvation
Father, I believe that Jesus is Your Son.
I believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sins.
I believe that Jesus rose from the dead.
I'm sorry for my sin. I'm sorry for living my life my way instead of Your way.
I ask Jesus to forgive me. I ask Jesus to save me.
Jesus, I invite You into my life. I want You to be my Lord. I want to follow You.
Thank You for dying for me. Thank You for loving me. Thank You for forgiving me.
I believe that You've saved me. I'm Your child now.
Help me follow You. Help me grow. Help me become who You created me to be.
In Jesus' Name, Amen.
That's It
If you prayed that prayer and meant it, you're saved.
Not because of the words. Because of what you believe.
Not because you did it perfectly. Because you're sincere.
Not because you're worthy. Because Jesus made you worthy.
You're saved.
Listen:
Romans 10:13
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
Whosoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
That includes you.
What Just Happened
When you asked Jesus to save you, several things happened:
Your sins were forgiven.
All of them. Past, present, and future. Covered by Jesus' blood.
You became God's child.
Adopted into God's family. You belong to God now.
The Holy Spirit moved in.
God's Spirit is now living inside you. Guiding you. Comforting you. Empowering you.
Your destiny changed.
You're no longer headed toward judgment and separation from God. You're headed toward heaven and eternal life with Jesus.
You were born again.
You have a new identity. You're a new creation.
That's huge. That's everything.
Tell Someone
The Bible says:
Romans 10:10
"For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
Confess with your mouth. Tell someone.
Don't keep it secret. Tell someone what you did. Tell a pastor. Tell a friend. Tell a family member.
Why? Because speaking it out loud solidifies it. It makes it real. It creates accountability.
What Happens Now?
So you've asked Jesus to save you. Now what?
Get connected to a church.
Find a church where people believe in Jesus and follow Him. Get involved. Build community.
Get a Bible.
Start reading God's Word. Let God speak to you through Scripture.
Find someone to disciple you.
Ask a mature Christian to help you grow. Learn from them.
Start praying.
Talk to God. Tell Him your thoughts. Ask Him questions. Spend time with Him.
Live like you're saved.
This doesn't mean you have to be perfect. It means you're trying to follow Jesus.
Share your faith.
Tell other people what Jesus did for you. Help them encounter Jesus too.
You're Not Alone
Here's the promise:
You're never alone now.
God is with you. Jesus is with you. The Holy Spirit is with you.
When you're afraid, they're with you.
When you're struggling, they're with you.
When you're confused, they're with you.
Always.
Listen:
Matthew 28:20
"And, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world."
Jesus is with you always. Even until the end of the world. That's your guarantee. That's your comfort. That's your hope.

- Do you believe the four things necessary for salvation? Jesus is God's Son, died for you, rose again, and is Lord?
- Are you ready to ask Jesus to save you? What's holding you back?
- If you've already asked Jesus to save you, have you told anyone? Who can you tell today?
- What will change now that you're saved? How will you live differently?
Prayer
If you haven't prayed the prayer of salvation yet, pray it now.
If you have already prayed it, pray this:
Father, thank You for saving me. Thank You for forgiving me. Thank You for Jesus.
Help me live like I'm saved. Help me grow in my faith. Help me follow Jesus.
Give me courage to tell others what Jesus did for me. Help me live in a way that honors You.
Thank You for being with me. Thank You for never leaving me. Thank You for making me Your child.
In Jesus' Name, Amen.
Whosoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. That includes you — right now, right where you are.
