There is a kind of season that you cannot explain. You cannot explain why you're in it. You cannot explain what God is doing. I know that season. I have lived it. As someone who has spent years in a dialysis chair, I know what it is to be in a season that makes no sense — a season where your body is failing, where your plans are on hold, where you look at your life and think, "This is not what I signed up for."
But here's what I have learned across decades of walking with God through seasons that made no sense at the time: The season that makes no sense is not random. It is not wasted. And one day — maybe not today, maybe not this year — but one day, you will look back and see that God was doing something in you that could not have been done any other way.

Why This Season Is So Hard
The reason this season is so painful is not just the circumstances — it's the silence. If God would just tell you what He's doing, you could handle it. If He would just give you a timeline, you could endure it. If He would just explain the plan, you could cooperate with it. But He doesn't. He's quiet. The deep-rooted tree stands.

2. He Builds the Person Before He Builds the Platform
God is more interested in who you are becoming than in what you are accomplishing. It's easy to be faithful when you see results — when the ministry is growing, when the bank account is full, when people are applauding. But can you be faithful when nobody sees? Can you keep praying when the answer isn't coming? Can you keep serving when nobody says thank you? Can you keep trusting when the circumstances say the opposite of what God promised?

Here's a truth I have seen play out over and over: Life rewards the ones who don't quit. Not the most talented. Not the most gifted. Not the ones with the most resources. The ones who just keep going — they are the ones who see the breakthrough.
The Breakdown Before the Breakthrough
Every breakthrough is preceded by a breakdown. The breakdown of your own strength so you learn to rely on His. The breakdown of your own plans so you learn to follow His. The breakdown of your own understanding so you learn to trust His. The breakdown feels like failure, but it is actually preparation. You cannot carry what's coming with what you have now. You have to be broken down to be rebuilt stronger.
Delay Is Preparing You for Something Bigger
If God gave you what you asked for when you asked for it, it would be too small for what He's actually planning. The delay is not denial — it is upgrade. He's not saying no; He's saying, "That's too small. Wait until you see what I actually have for you."
God Does Not Waste Anything
Not one tear. Not one sleepless night. Not one unanswered question. Not one moment in that dialysis chair. God wastes nothing. Every part of your story is material for His glory. The season that makes no sense right now will one day be the testimony that sets someone else free. Your pain is not pointless. Your waiting is not wasted.
A Prayer for the Season That Makes No Sense
Father, I don't understand this season. I don't see what You're doing. I don't know how long it will last. But I trust You.
Help me to stop demanding explanations and start receiving formation. Grow roots in me that will hold when the storm comes. Build in me the character that can carry the calling.
Teach me to be faithful without the feedback — to keep praying, keep trusting, keep believing even when I cannot see what You're doing.
And when the season finally makes sense — when I look back and see what You were doing all along — let me be the kind of person who gives You glory for every step of the journey, even the steps I didn't understand.
