Friend, if you are here because you sense that God is calling you to a deeper level of wisdom — if you want to see the world through God's eyes, to make decisions with His discernment, to understand the spiritual reality beneath the surface of things — Jesus meets you with an invitation. There is a difference between knowledge and wisdom. You can know many things and still make foolish decisions. But wisdom is the capacity to see the deeper truth.
You are ready to lead, to serve, and to love at the level of wisdom that only comes from intimacy with God. You are tired of making the same mistakes. You are ready to understand spiritual realities that have been hidden from you. This communion is an act of asking God to elevate you — to be your teacher and to give you eyes to see what others miss.
Wisdom is not automatic. You must pursue it. You must ask for it. You must be willing to be taught.
Why This Communion Matters
"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom" (Proverbs 9:10). Wisdom does not start with acquiring knowledge. It starts with reverence for God — with understanding that God's perspective is the only perspective that ultimately matters. Joseph operated in deep wisdom because of his relationship with God. Daniel understood visions and dreams that others could not see. Solomon asked for wisdom above all other things, and God granted it generously.
At the cross, Jesus displayed the ultimate wisdom of God. What looked like defeat was actually victory. What looked like death was actually resurrection. Jesus showed us that God's wisdom transcends human understanding. And through His finished work, you have access to that same wisdom — the Spirit of wisdom and revelation that Paul prayed over the church.

A Word of Teaching
James gives us a stunningly simple instruction: ask for wisdom, and God will give it generously. Not grudgingly. Not with a lecture. Generously. The God who spoke the universe into existence is willing to share His perspective with you — but you must ask.
Solomon understood this. When God appeared to him and said "Ask for whatever you want me to give you," Solomon did not ask for riches or long life or victory over his enemies. He asked for wisdom — "a discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish between right and wrong." God was so pleased with this request that He gave Solomon not only wisdom but also riches and honor beyond measure. Wisdom is the gift that unlocks every other gift.
At the cross, Jesus embodied wisdom in its fullest expression. He faced the ultimate test — and what looked like total defeat was the most brilliant victory ever won. His resurrection proved that God's wisdom operates at a higher level than human reasoning can comprehend. And that wisdom is available to you.
The Bread
Hold the bread in your hand. This bread represents the body of Christ — the embodiment of God's wisdom. Jesus saw what no one else could see. He understood what no one else understood. He operated from a level of wisdom that was completely different from human wisdom.
Jesus looked at situations and perceived what others missed. He knew people's hearts. He saw the spiritual reality beneath the surface. When His critics tried to trap Him, He answered with a wisdom that silenced them and transformed those who listened. This same wisdom is available to you. His body was broken so that His wisdom could be imparted to His people.
"I receive the body of Christ — the embodiment of God's wisdom. I am being elevated to a higher level of understanding and discernment. Jesus' wisdom is becoming my wisdom."
Eat the bread now, receiving the invitation to operate at a higher level of wisdom through Christ.
The Cup
Hold the cup in your hand. This cup represents the blood of Jesus — the covenant that gives you access to the wisdom of God. Through Christ, you can see spiritual realities, understand deeper truths, and operate with divine discernment.
Paul prayed that the church would receive "the Spirit of wisdom and revelation" so that they may know God better. That Spirit is the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead — and that Spirit lives in you. The blood of Jesus sealed this access. You are not operating on human intelligence alone. You have access to the mind of Christ.
"Through the blood of Jesus I have access to the wisdom of God. I can see spiritual realities, understand deeper truths, and operate with divine discernment. This wisdom flows from intimacy with God."
Drink the cup now, receiving the access to God's wisdom that Jesus' covenant sealed for you.
Closing Prayer
Father, I come to this table asking You to elevate my wisdom. I am ready to see at a deeper level. I am ready to understand spiritual realities that have been hidden from me. I am ready to make decisions with Your discernment, not just human reasoning.
Open my eyes. Expand my capacity for understanding. Give me the wisdom to lead, to serve, and to love at a higher level. Teach me to see as You see. Teach me to understand as You understand. Teach me to discern truth from deception. Give me a hunger for understanding and the humility to be taught by You.
As I take this bread and cup, I receive the invitation to operate in a higher level of wisdom. In Jesus' name, Amen.
