Prayer for the Adoption Journey

Father God, You are the Author of adoption. Before the foundation of the world, You chose us to be brought into Your family through Jesus Christ. You know the heart of adoption because You initiated it. And today I bring this adoption journey to You.

For parents who are waiting — waiting for the call, waiting for paperwork, waiting for a court date — give them supernatural patience. Protect their hearts from discouragement. Provide financially for every fee and every need. Open every door that needs to be opened, and close every door that should remain closed.

For the child who will be adopted — prepare their heart. Protect them until they are home. Heal any trauma they have experienced. Let them know, even now, that they are wanted, loved, and chosen — not just by an earthly family, but by the God of the universe.

For birth parents — I lift them up to You. Whether their decision was made out of love, hardship, or circumstances I cannot understand, surround them with Your peace. Bring healing where there is grief.

For families already home with their adopted children — give wisdom for the unique challenges. Help navigate questions about identity, belonging, and origin with grace. Bond what needs to be bonded. Heal what needs to be healed.

Thank You, God, that family is not just biology — it is covenant. Thank You that adoption is not plan B — it is a reflection of Your heart from the very beginning. I trust this journey to You.
