Prayer for Infertility

Father God, Creator of life, I come to You with a longing that won't go away. I want to be a mother. I want to be a father. I want to hold a child that is mine — and month after month, that desire goes unfulfilled. The waiting is hard, Lord. Some days it feels unbearable.

I confess my frustration to You. The jealousy I feel when I see pregnancy announcements. The sadness that hits me at baby showers. The anger that rises when people ask, "When are you going to have kids?" as if it were that simple. You know it has not been simple. You know the long nights and the treatments and the prayers that have felt unanswered.

God, I ask You — if it is Your will — to open my womb. I ask You to do what medicine cannot do. I remember the women in Scripture who cried out to You — Hannah, Rachel, Sarah, Elizabeth — and You heard them. Hear me too, Lord.

But even if the answer is different than I hope, I trust You. I trust that You have a plan for me — whether through biological children, adoption, spiritual children, or a legacy I cannot yet see. My worth is not determined by my ability to conceive. I am loved and valued by You, fully, completely, right now.

Give me peace in the process. Give me patience in the waiting. Give me community that supports without prying. And help me not to let this struggle consume my identity or my marriage. You are still good. You are still working. And I am still Yours.
